How to perform cosmetic procedures and skin treatments before pregnancy, during pregnancy and during breastfeeding?

During planning for pregnancy, that is, the phase couple decides to have children and do not use any contraceptives, there is no limitation in cosmetic procedures and they can be performed safely.

In case of using medications, some of them should be discontinued during pregnancy and some even a few months earlier, so consult your doctor if you are taking oral medications for skin or hair disease and are planning for pregnancy.

It is recommended not to do any cosmetic procedure during pregnancy. Of course, most cosmetic procedures do not have any complications during pregnancy, but since all of their effects on the fetus have not been studied, it is best not to do so during this period.

Most medications and even many creams and other topical agents are prohibited during pregnancy and be sure to ask your doctor before continuing them in pregnancy.

There is controversy between various authors about procedures like Botox injections or laser hair removal during breastfeeding. Personally, I don’t inject Botox for the nursing mother before the baby is at least 6 months old and is feeding largely of complementary foods. Speaking about laser hair removal, the effect of the laser during breastfeeding may be less than normal due to the high secretion of prolactin, so I recommend that the subject wait until the end of breastfeeding.

It is no limitation to perform rejuvenation methods like RF, filler, etc. during breastfeeding. Treatment of stretch marks should be started as soon as possible after delivery, because when they become old and their color change from red to white, the effect of the treatments will be greatly reduced.

It is forbidden to take a number of oral medications and some creams during breastfeeding, and it is best to consult a dermatologist before taking them.
